• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS): Dr. Nelson graduated in June 1980 from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI.
• Post-Doctoral Education: He completed advanced training in Bone Grafting and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) at Wright State University Medical School.
• Continuing Education: Dr. Nelson has consistently pursued additional education to stay at the forefront of dental advancements, including training in CoreVent Implants, Nobel Bio-Care Select Replace Implants, Imtec Mini Implants, and Invisalign Orthodontics.
• Invisalign Preferred Provider: He has achieved the status of an Invisalign Preferred Provider, showcasing his expertise in orthodontics.
Academic and Teaching Experience
Dr. Nelson has had the privilege of serving as a Clinical Adjunct Associate Professor at Marquette University School of Dentistry. His academic journey began in May 1980 and continued until May 2007, and he resumed his teaching role in April 2023, which he presently holds. He dedicates one day per week to teaching at various locations, including MUSoD's main campus and satellite community clinics.
His teaching responsibilities have covered a wide spectrum of clinical dentistry, encompassing fixed and removable prosthetics, endodontic procedures, restorative dentistry, pedodontics, periodontics, oral diagnosis, and oral surgery. He has had the privilege of instructing D3 and D4 predoctoral students and AEGD residents.

Throughout his career, Dr. Nelson's passion has revolved around dental surgery, implant placement and restoration, endodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. These areas have been at the forefront of his practice, allowing him to make a meaningful impact on his patients' oral health and smiles.
